Forever is a long time

I have neglected to update this site for quite some time.  Hope you like the new look and layout.  I also hope the new home page photo is cool and tough enough for everyone, was I trying out for a Pee-Wee football team?  Why so serious?  Back at work toying with some words to release a few singles this fall.  I'll also be flying out to Arizona with our badass videographer Jeremy Miller in November to record the music video for "Tucson".  Good news all around!  Thanks for stopping by!

New record, "Back There Again"!

Currently at EOA Digital studio recording my sophomore release, "Back There Again"!  There will be 7 songs on this album.  We are re-recording 2 tunes from the old record, "Can't Get Close to You", and "Dallas".  The remaining 5 are brand new!  I can't express how pumped I am to get this music out into the world!  My producers and close friends, Nate Sexton and Marshall Coats have done an incredible job.

Updates

Wow, it has been ages since my last post!  Seasons Greetings from John Thrasher Music!  It has been a busy 2013.  The band has performed 17 wedding receptions and 9 wedding ceremonies all around the Southeast, along with several corporate events, highlighted by the UGA Terry College of Business annual fundraiser at the Intercontinental Hotel last May.  Some big news, we have acquired the website www.atlantaweddingband.com.  Soon enough, this site will be exclusively devoted to my original music and the AWB website will handle the hard-working cover band.  In other news, I am happy to announce I am headed back to the studio in January 2014 to begin recording the second album!  My good friend and our guitarist, Stefan Cashwell and i have been hard at work over the last year penning 6 new tunes.  The album, more than likely, will include four songs remixed from "Too Young to Slow Down" and the six new songs.  That's it for now, I will also be sending out a list wide email with these announcements so until then, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and as always, I thank you so much for your continued support.

John

News and Notes 11/6/12

 Hey everyone,

We've booked East Andrews Bar in Buckhead every Thursday in November!  The shows will be 9pm-1am.  We have also booked every Saturday in November at Old Vinings Inn, showtime 9pm-12am.

We've been very busy booking corporate parties and weddings for the Spring and Summer of 2013.  Make sure to contact me if you'd like live music at your event (solo-6 piece)!

On the original front, I've written three new original songs for the next album, "Secondhand Love", "Dan's Song", and "Walking Blind".  I am currently working with good friend and co-writer Stefan Cashwell on these tunes as well as others for yall's future listening enjoyment.

News and Notes 9/20/12

CD Release Show was a great success on 8/15/12 at Tavern 99.  We had over 170 people in the venue!  My debut album, "Too Young to Slow Down" is out and available for purchase on iTunes!  In the process of writing songs for the next record due out in 2013.  Getting ready for all original acoustic show at Eddie's Attic opening for Betsy Kingston and the Crowns.

What's new with John Thrasher Music

Three private parties this week, two Friday for my former CPA firm, Frazier and Deeter, and a house party for Lyn Fields, both in Atlanta, and one Saturday for a 50th birthday party in Dunwoody, a duo show with Christian Leonard.  In studio with Brent tomorrow (Tuesday), and Wednesday recording vocals for two of the last tracks on the album, "Tail Lights" a Francisco Vidal (good friend and agent) original and "Dallas" an original I wrote with producer and lead guitarist Brent McDonald.  After "Dallas" and "Tail Lights" are recorded, we will stand firm at 8 songs... currently debating over whether to leave it at those 8 or write 2 more and make it a full length, 10 song album.  We will for sure keep y'all posted!

Album #2, "Back There Again"

Mixing and tracking is finished for album #2, "Back There Again".  The record is due for release on 6/6/15 with the CD release show that evening at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta, GA!
